Hi all, I am Sarah Nycole, founder of Beautiful Dream Yoga!
The spark of my yoga journey: Many years ago, while I was in high school, yoga was a part of our gym curriculum and I always wished we were able to spend more of the year learning the practice. I was able to seek out more yoga while in college and my desire to learn more deepened. Towards the end of my college years I began to attend classes in the community. From then on, my practice became more and more regular. In all honesty, there were times over the years where "life" happened and my practice didn't stay as consistent but it always found its way back quickly... I share this with you to let you know that, if ever through your practice "life" happens, that it is ok and you can always come back...
What lead me to teaching: In the fall of 2015, I was going through the process to become a professional firefighter when an old injury acted up and said otherwise. I found myself in a position of not knowing what I wanted to do in regards to my career path. It was in this time that my two wonderful sisters suggested I immerse deeper into my passion for yoga and becoming a yoga instructor. Also, knowing I've had a passion for seeing the world, they suggested I do something for myself and follow both of these passions together. I am grateful for them giving me this suggestion and support. A few months after this conversation and having searched yoga schools around the world, I chose to apply to a school in India and was accepted. Though there was a little hiccup with the school I applied to not having enough students to run the training about 2 weeks before I boarded my flight, they set me up with the school that they were all educated at and I couldn't be happier with the way it worked out.
My trainings: In March of 2016 I spent 4 weeks at Sampoorna Yoga in Agonda Beach, Canacona, Goa, India training for my 200 hr intensive Yoga Teacher Certification in Ashtanga and Vinyasa. I instantly fell in love and felt at home in India and at Sampoorna. In March of 2017 I returned to Sampoorna Yoga for a 50 hr intensive training in Yin Yoga.
In January of 2018 I received my Kids Yoga Teacher Certification from Kidding Around Yoga - Online and in July of 2018 I participated in an in person Kidding Around Yoga training.
In June of 2019, I headed to Peru to immerse in a 200 hr intensive Yoga Teacher Training with School Yoga Institute. Where I be studied a variety of topics, including the Peruvian Shamanic Medicine Wheel, Ayurveda, traditional ceremonies, Mystical Vinyasa and Mystical Hatha flows, and much more!
My yoga teaching journey: After arriving back home to Utica, NY, I slowly started teaching around the area, and in May of 2016 I founded Beautiful Dream Yoga. Fast forward to November 2016 when I opened the doors of the Beautiful Dream Yoga Studio. We had a wonderful 2 year run at the studio, where I had the opportunity to work with many wonderful teachers in our area as well as bring in some amazing yoga friends from the Syracuse and Albany area. I am grateful for each of the teachers and students who had walked through the doors of the studio. I made the decision to close the doors on the studio to further my teaching abilities and yoga knowledge in hopes of being able to bring more, different classes and opportunities to the community.
